Kimmie is an upbeat and jolly person who loves helping people. Her patients describe her as an “angel” and “a breath of fresh air.” “Kimmie to the rescue” is a very common phrase we hear. Kimmie went to school in the Navy and became a hospital corpsman. She is a veteran who spent 12 years in an Oncology unit treating and caring for cancer patients. Kimmie also decided to work with Jackson VA Medical Center as a utilization review nurse. In 2018, she moved to Houston, Texas, and began her journey in the home health setting. According to Kimmie: “Home Care of Texas is the first job I have ever had besides the Navy that I was free. I am free to take care of my patients under the supervision of the physician and DON. I am free to make my own schedule. Free to learn, fail, and try harder again the next day. Home Care of Texas fosters growth and a learning attitude. This is the job that I have waited for all my life.”
